Jennifer Lopez’s first married life began with Cuban born person Ojani Noa. Jennifer Lopez first met her when Ojani Noa was working as a waiter in a local restaurant. Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa were married in February 1997 and were divorced in January 1998. Later on Jennifer Lopez had employed Ojani Noa as the manager of her restaurant in Pasadena, California in April 2002. Jennifer Lopez had fired Ojani Noa in October 2002. Ojani Noa had sued her due to his termination from employment due to which Jennifer Lopez was forced to seek a settlement and confidentiality agreement. Again, in 2006, both were embroiled in a court matter over Ojani Noa’s proposed book. The book allegedly contained personal secrets of their married life and which violated the confidentiality agreement. In response the court case filed by Jennifer Lopez against Ojani Noa, court appointed an arbitrator in August 2007. Permanent injunction court order prohibited Ojani Noa from ?criticizing, denigrating, and casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging?. Jennifer Lopez was awarded $545,000 as compensatory damages including legal fees and arbitration costs. Court had also ordered Ojani Noa to hand over all the material related to his proposed book to Jennifer Lopez or her Attorney.
